Simon Wilby Enters Green Market with Solar Powered Battery

In late 2008, Simon Wilby, the CEO of Smart Power Inc., invented an upgrade for common cell phone batteries – The Smart One. Unlike conventional batteries, this one runs on solar power through integrated solar cells that can be retrofitted to all major mobile phones. In collaboration with a foreign manufacturer, Simon Wilby was able to launch his invention earlier this year in Barbados, where his company is stationed. Now, as the local market responds to his product, he hopes to bring it to the rest of the world.

The Smart One is a practical replacement to low-performing cell phone batteries that typically die out in untimely occasions. This battery relies on solar cells to give cell phones continuous energy boosts.

Simon Wilby is not keen on patronizing old technologies for cell phone batteries. This manifests in the fact that he invented an entirely different version of common batteries that can possibly push the lithium-ion battery technology and mobile phone chargers out of the market anytime soon. Indeed, he is bullish on the market that promotes the integration of green solutions to ordinary devices. He wants a share in the effort to create products for this particular market perhaps in the hope of securing a brighter future for the rest of us.
