Simon Wilby Unveils Solar Powered Lithium Battery

Today, more than ever, we need people who are willing to go out of the box and invent things that would make the future a lot less inconvenient. For inventor Simon Wilby, the solution is to lessen dependence on fossil fuels and to opt for a renewable energy resource – solar power.

In the first quarter of 2009, Simon Wilby launched his solar powered battery called The Smart One. This is the result of altering energy source of ordinary Lithium batteries with solar power and enhancing the battery with a newer, more efficient technology called Lithium exon. This technology is an update of the lithium-ion battery technology, which offers more stable power and more memory storage capacity. By combining this technology and fully circuited plastic solar cell, Simon Wilby was able to create a type of battery that outperforms current products in the market.

The Smart One is retrofitted to any major brands and models of cell phones around the world in just under a minute. Basically, connectors will be shifted to the inside of the battery door and a solar cell will be hinged on the outside of the battery door. With this device, continuous battery charging is possible so long as the solar panel is exposed to light sources, whether it’s sunlight, moonlight or ambient light.

With his break-through green invention, Simon Wilby and his company, Smart Power Inc., look forward to penetrating international market soon.
